1. Who is Aaron Grymes?

Aaron Grymes is a professional gridiron football defensive back and special teams contributor. He currently plays for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Before his time with the Elks, Grymes played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Calgary Stampeders, Philadelphia Eagles, and BC Lions, having played in both the CFL and the National Football League (NFL).

2. Early life and College career

Growing up in Brampton, Ontario, Grymes attended Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School, where he played football as a wide receiver and defensive back. After graduating, Grymes played one season of college football for Eastern Michigan University, where he recorded 21 tackles in 11 games, before transferring to the University of California, Berkeley, where he spent the remainder of his college career. While at Cal, Grymes started 22 of 29 games and made 117 tackles, four interceptions, four tackles for loss, and one sack.

3. Professional career

Grymes began his professional career with the BC Lions in 2012. He played four seasons with the team before moving to the United States to play in the NFL. In 2017, Grymes signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. He was released by the Eagles in 2018 and later signed with the Calgary Stampeders. Grymes returned to the Lions in 2019 before signing with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2021. He helped the Blue Bombers win the 109th Grey Cup and re-signed with the team in 2022. However, Grymes was released by the Blue Bombers on May 31, 2023, and signed with the Edmonton Elks on June 13, 2023.

4. NFL career

After going undrafted in the 2012 NFL Draft, Grymes signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent. He spent the 2012 season on the Eagles' practice squad. In 2013, Grymes made the Eagles' active roster and played in nine games, recording three tackles. He was released by the Eagles in August 2014.

In addition to his football career, Grymes is also involved in philanthropy. In 2018, he founded the Aaron Grymes Foundation, which supports youth sports and education in underserved communities.
