Australia’s Paralympic athletes enjoyed a successful final week of competition at the 2018 IWAS Wheelchair Fencing World Championships in Paris, with several athletes winning medals.

Madeleine Murray won gold in the women’s individual foil category B, while Qian Yang won silver in the men’s individual épée category B. The Australian team also won a bronze medal in the men’s team épée event.

In total, Australian athletes won 10 medals at the championships, including three gold, four silver and three bronze.

The championships were a great opportunity for Australian athletes to prepare for the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
