Blur's Beginnings
Blur is an English rock band that emerged from the Britpop scene of the early 1990s. Formed in London in 1988, the band's original lineup consisted of singer Damon Albarn, guitarist Graham Coxon, bassist Alex James, and drummer Dave Rowntree. Blur released its debut album, Leisure, in 1991. However, it was their second album, Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993), that propelled them to fame. The album's singles, "For Tomorrow" and "Chemical World," became top-10 hits in the UK. After the Britpop era, Blur began to experiment with different musical styles. Blur went on hiatus in 2003, but reunited in 2009 and have continued to release new music and tour.
