Car Driver Has a Coughing Fit and Collides with a Car in Tyrol
Tyrol, Austria –
A 72-year-old car driver suddenly had a coughing fit, which he tried to suppress with his hand, but then lost control of the wheel and collided with an oncoming car on the Brenner motorway (A13) near Schönberg in Tyrol.
The accident occurred on Tuesday morning at around 6:30 a.m. The 72-year-old man was driving in the direction of Innsbruck when he suffered a coughing fit. As a result, the man lost control of the vehicle and veered into the oncoming traffic lane.
The oncoming car, driven by a 65-year-old man, was unable to avoid a collision.
Both vehicles were heavily damaged, and the two drivers were injured. The 72-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital by helicopter. The 65-year-old man suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene of the accident.
The Brenner motorway (A13) was closed for several hours due to the accident. The police are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
