Child Benefit payments to increase - see how much you could get
Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced that Child Benefit payments will increase by 2% in April 2023.
The increase will see the weekly rate of Child Benefit rise to £21.80 for the eldest or only child and £14.45 for each additional child.
The change will come into effect from the 10th of April 2023 and will benefit around 6 million families in the UK.
The increase is part of the government's wider package of support for families, which also includes the introduction of a new £500 payment for low-income households with children.
Chancellor Rishi Sunak said:
"I know that families are facing rising costs, which is why we are taking action to help. This increase in Child Benefit will provide some additional financial support to families with children."
