Coronation Street viewers were left on the edge of their seats on Monday night as Billy Mayhew was saved from freezing to death by a much-loved character who returned from the dead.

In the dramatic episode, Billy was sleeping rough on the streets when he was attacked by a gang of thugs. Just when it seemed like all hope was lost, Kevin Webster, who was presumed dead after being caught in a factory explosion in 2019, appeared and fought off the attackers.

Billy was rushed to hospital where he was treated for hypothermia and a broken arm. Kevin, meanwhile, disappeared as quickly as he had arrived, leaving Billy and the other Coronation Street residents wondering if he was really alive or if it had all been a figment of their imaginations.
