"Disappointing end to the series but...": England skipper Livingstone after defeat to Windies in 3rd ODI

England's ODI series against the West Indies ended with a disappointing 2-1 defeat after they lost the third and final match by five wickets in Barbados.

England skipper Liam Livingstone admitted that the result was not what they had hoped for, but he praised his team for their efforts throughout the series.

“It is a disappointing end to the series, but I am proud of the way the team has played,” Livingstone said. “We have shown a lot of fight and determination, even when things have not gone our way.”

England won the first match of the series by 34 runs, but they lost the second match by the same margin. In the third match, England were bowled out for just 122 runs, with Obed McCoy taking five wickets for the West Indies.

Livingstone said that England's batting performance in the third match was not good enough.

“We didn't bat well enough today,” he said. “We lost wickets at key times, and we never really got going.

Despite the defeat, Livingstone said that he believes that England can learn from their experience in the series.

“We have learned a lot about ourselves as a team,” he said. “We have identified some areas that we need to improve on, and we will be working hard to address those areas.

England will now turn their attention to the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup in Australia. Livingstone said that he is confident that England can perform well in the tournament.

“We have a good team, and we are capable of beating anyone on our day,” he said. “We are going to the World Cup with a lot of confidence, and we are determined to do well.
