The Eagles Elevate Two Practice Squad Members for Packers Matchup

Philadelphia Eagles Activate Two Players Ahead of Season Opener

The Philadelphia Eagles have elevated two players from their practice squad ahead of their season-opening matchup against the Green Bay Packers. Wide receiver Marken Michel and defensive end Matt Leo have been added to the active roster.

Marken Michel Returns to Eagles Active Roster

Michel, a 24-year-old wide receiver, originally joined the Eagles in 2022 as an undrafted free agent. However, he spent the entire season on the practice squad. Michel had a strong preseason, catching seven passes for 123 yards and a touchdown.

With the Eagles' wide receiver depth taking a hit due to injuries, Michel will provide depth behind starters A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Quez Watkins.

Matt Leo Set to Make NFL Debut for Eagles

Leo, a 24-year-old defensive end, signed with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2023. He spent his college career at Mississippi State, where he recorded 13.5 sacks and 26 tackles for loss in 52 games.

Leo adds depth to the Eagles' defensive line, which is led by All-Pro tackle Fletcher Cox and Pro Bowl end Josh Sweat. He could see playing time in sub packages on Sunday.
