Diaz nets as Colmbia edge Peru to reach last eight

Luis Diaz's second-half strike propelled Colombia to a 1-0 victory over Peru in their final Group B match on Sunday, sealing their place in the Copa America quarter-finals.

The Porto winger broke the deadlock in the 66th minute, latching onto a through ball from Wilmar Barrios and firing a low shot past Pedro Gallese.

Colombia held on for the win despite being reduced to 10 men when Yerry Mina was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 80th minute.

Alisson keeps clean sheet as Brazil beat Ecuador

Alisson Becker kept a clean sheet as Brazil secured a 1-0 win over Ecuador in their final Group B match on Sunday.

Richarlison scored the only goal of the game in the 37th minute, heading home from close range after a cross from Everton.

Brazil finished top of Group B with three wins from three, while Ecuador finished third and will face Uruguay in the quarter-finals.
