Mark Robins: Coventry manager sacked after almost eight years in charge and two promotions with Sky Blues
Coventry have sacked manager Mark Robins after a poor run of results in the Championship.
Robins, 52, was in charge at the CBS Arena for almost eight years and led the club to two promotions from League One.
He leaves with the Sky Blues 21st in the Championship table, just one point above the relegation zone.
Assistant manager Adi Viveash has also left the club.
Coventry said in a statement that the decision to sack Robins was "not taken lightly".
"The club would like to thank Mark for his hard work and dedication during his time at Coventry City and wish him all the best for the future," the statement added.
Robins was appointed Coventry manager in March 2014, with the club in the League One relegation zone.
He guided the Sky Blues to safety and then won promotion to the Championship the following season.
Coventry were relegated back to League One in 2017, but Robins led them to an immediate return to the Championship as champions.
However, Coventry have struggled this season and have only won four of their 24 league games.
The Sky Blues have also been knocked out of the FA Cup and Carabao Cup at the first round stage.
Robins' last game in charge was a 2-0 defeat at home to Blackpool on Saturday.
Coventry have not yet announced a replacement for Robins.
The club's next game is at home to Burnley on Saturday, 29 January.
