Turner's homer helps Phillies beat Braves
Trea Turner homered and drove in three runs as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Atlanta Braves 8-3 on Monday night.
Turner's homer was a three-run shot in the first inning off Braves starter Mike Soroka.
The Phillies added two more runs in the second inning on a double by Bryce Harper and a single by Nick Castellanos.
Nola strong on the mound for Phillies
Aaron Nola pitched 6 2/3 innings for the Phillies, allowing three runs on six hits. He struck out nine batters and walked one.
The Braves scored their runs on a solo homer by Marcell Ozuna in the third inning, and a two-run homer by Austin Riley in the fourth inning.
The Phillies bullpen allowed just one hit over the final 2 1/3 innings to secure the win.
Phillies improve to 4-2
With the win, the Phillies improved to 4-2 on the season. The Braves fell to 2-4.
The two teams will meet again on Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park.
