Salt and Mousley's heroics propel England to a competitive 263-8 against West Indies
England's top order falters, but middle-order duo come to the rescue
England's middle-order duo of Phil Salt and James Mousley rescued their team from a precarious position with impressive half-centuries as the visitors reached a competitive 263-8 in the third one-day international against West Indies in Barbados.
After Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow fell cheaply, Salt and Mousley combined for a 117-run stand to steady the ship.
Salt was the more aggressive of the two, striking six fours and two sixes in his 60 off 71 balls. Mousley, on the other hand, played a more measured innings, anchoring the innings with a patient 56 off 75 balls.
Late cameos boost England's total
After Salt and Mousley departed, Liam Livingstone (36) and Sam Billings (23) provided valuable cameos to lift England's total towards a challenging one.
Livingstone, in particular, was impressive, striking three sixes in his 21-ball knock.
West Indies bowlers share the spoils
For West Indies, Alzarri Joseph and Akeal Hosein were the most successful bowlers, taking three wickets each.
Joseph was particularly impressive in his opening spell, removing Roy and Bairstow in quick succession.
Hosein, on the other hand, was economical and effective, conceding only 40 runs in his 10 overs.
England look to level series
With the series locked at 1-1, England will be eager to level the series when the two teams meet in the fourth ODI on Saturday.
West Indies, on the other hand, will be determined to defend their home-turf advantage and take an unassailable lead in the five-match series.
