Aces' A'ja Wilson Dominates Connecticut

A'ja Wilson finished with 35 points and 11 rebounds in the Aces’ win. It was a repeat performance of her 39-point effort in Game 1 of the WNBA semifinals. She also led the Aces in the regular season with 19.5 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. Wilson's dominant performance was too much for the Sun, who were led by Alyssa Thomas' 24 points. Las Vegas held Connecticut, the number one team in the regular season, to just 40% shooting from the field. The Aces also dominated the boards, outrebounding the Sun 39-28.

Second-Half Struggles Doom Connecticut

The Sun led by 10 points at halftime, but they could not keep up with the Aces in the second half. Las Vegas opened the third quarter on a 10-0 run, and they eventually took the lead for good with just over five minutes remaining in the period. The Sun never led in the fourth quarter, and they could not get closer than three points down the stretch. Las Vegas hit its free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.

The Aces will host Game 3 of the WNBA semifinals on Tuesday night. The Sun will need to find a way to slow down Wilson if they want to even the series.
