Semi Driver Trapped After Truck Flips on I-10 East in Tallahassee, Backing Up Traffic

Delays Expected as Crews Work to Clear the Scene

Tallahassee, FL - February 23, 2023

A semi-truck driver is trapped after their vehicle flipped over on I-10 East in Tallahassee, causing significant traffic backups, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The incident occurred at around 10:30 am near mile marker 198, just east of the Capital Circle interchange. The driver of the semi-truck, a 45-year-old man from Alabama, was transporting a load of lumber when the truck left the roadway and overturned.

The driver was trapped inside the truck and had to be extricated by rescue crews. He was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The extent of his injuries is not yet known.

The crash has caused significant delays in both directions of I-10 East. Traffic is currently being diverted onto Old Bainbridge Road while crews work to clear the scene.

The FHP is investigating the cause of the crash. They are asking drivers to avoid the area if possible.
