Uefa Youth League: The VfB U19 overrun Atalanta Bergamo early

Stuttgart's U19s make a strong start in the Uefa Youth League

VfB Stuttgart's U19s celebrated a successful start to the Uefa Youth League on Tuesday evening. Against Atalanta Bergamo, the Swabians won 4-1 (3-0) and thus secured the top position in Group H after the first group matchday.

The start of the game was anything but easy for VfB. The Italians from Bergamo were considered slight favorites before the game and also had the first chances of the game. However, the Swabians gradually fought their way into the game and took the lead in the 20th minute through Mateo Klimowicz.

After the lead, the VfB U19 now dominated the game and extended their lead to 3-0 by the break. Lilian Egloff (28th) and Alou Kuol (42nd) scored the other two goals for the young Cannstatters.

After the change of sides, VfB continued to control the game and was able to increase the lead to 4-0 through Massimo Mangione in the 61st minute. The Italians only managed to score the goal to make it 4-1 in the 82nd minute.

With the victory, VfB Stuttgart U19s took the lead in Group H of the Uefa Youth League. In the next group game, the Swabians will face Manchester United on October 5th.
