Vernon Kay kept secret TV role from children - only Tess Daly knew
TV presenter Vernon Kay has revealed that he didn't tell his children about his secret role on a new TV show - only his wife Tess Daly knew
Kay, 48, is set to appear in the upcoming ITV series "Walk the Line", which will see celebrities perform on a tightrope suspended high above the River Thames
Kay said he kept his involvement in the show a secret from his children - Poppy, 15, and Amber, 12 - in order to surprise them.
He said: "I didn't tell the kids because I wanted it to be a surprise for them. I don't think they know yet, actually. They'll probably find out when they see this!"
Kay said that only his wife Tess Daly knew about his secret role. He said: "Tess was the only one who knew. She's been very supportive and she's been helping me to keep it a secret from the kids.
"She's been great. She's been really excited for me and she's been helping me to prepare for the show."
Kay said that he is "really excited" to be taking part in "Walk the Line". He said: "It's a really challenging show, but I'm up for the challenge. I'm really excited to see how I do and I'm hoping to do well."
"Walk the Line" will air on ITV later this year.
