Race Report and Results

The 6 Hours of Monza was the fourth round of the 2023 World Endurance Championship (WEC). The race was held at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza in Italy on July 9th and 10th. The race was won by the No. 8 Toyota GR010 Hybrid of Sebastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley, and Ryo Hirakawa. The No. 36 Alpine A480 Gibson of Andre Negrao, Nicolas Lapierre, and Matthieu Vaxiviere finished second, and the No. 7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid of Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi, and Jose Maria Lopez finished third.

Toyota Dominates Monza

Toyota dominated the 6 Hours of Monza, leading every lap of the race. The No. 8 Toyota of Buemi, Hartley, and Hirakawa took the lead at the start of the race and never looked back. The No. 7 Toyota of Conway, Kobayashi, and Lopez ran in second place for most of the race, but they were unable to close the gap to the No. 8 car. The No. 36 Alpine of Negrao, Lapierre, and Vaxiviere ran in third place for most of the race, but they were unable to challenge the Toyotas.

Alpine Takes Second

The No. 36 Alpine of Negrao, Lapierre, and Vaxiviere took second place in the 6 Hours of Monza. The Alpine team had a strong race, and they were able to close the gap to the Toyotas in the final stages of the race. However, they were unable to catch the Toyotas, and they had to settle for second place.

Porsche Finishes Fourth

The No. 92 Porsche 963 of Neel Jani, Michael Christensen, and Laurens Vanthoor finished fourth in the 6 Hours of Monza.
