Award-winning Scottish chippy launches deep-fried Christmas dinner supper
A chippy in Scotland has launched a deep-fried Christmas dinner - complete with all the trimmings.
The chippy, called The Bay in Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire, has been serving up the festive feast since last week.
The deep-fried Christmas dinner includes turkey, stuffing, pigs in blankets, roast potatoes, sprouts, carrots and gravy - all coated in a crispy batter.
The chippy's owner, Derek Stephen, said the idea came to him after he was asked by a customer if he could make a deep-fried Christmas dinner.
"I thought about it for a while and decided to give it a go," he said.
"It's been really popular so far. We've had people coming from all over to try it."
Stephen said the deep-fried Christmas dinner is made using the same batter as the chippy's other deep-fried dishes.
"It's a light and crispy batter that doesn't overpower the taste of the food," he said.
The deep-fried Christmas dinner costs £5.95 and is available until Christmas Eve.
