Barcola says no extra pressure despite good form
Young midfielder focused on helping team, not individual accolades
Enrique Barcola has been in impressive form for Barcelona this season, but the young midfielder insists he is not feeling any extra pressure to perform.
The 18-year-old has started all but one of Barca's La Liga games this season and has scored three goals and provided two assists.
His performances have helped Barca to the top of the table and have earned him a call-up to the Spain national team.
But Barcola says he is not getting carried away and is just focused on helping the team.
"I'm not feeling any extra pressure," he said. "I'm just trying to do my best for the team and help us win games.
"I'm still young and I'm learning, but I'm confident in my ability and I'm just trying to improve every day."
Barca coach Xavi Hernandez has been full of praise for Barcola, saying he is a "special talent" with a "bright future".
"He's a very talented player and he's still very young," Xavi said. "He's got a lot of potential and I'm sure he can become a top player for us."
Barcola's form has also caught the attention of other clubs, with Manchester United and Liverpool reportedly interested in signing him.
But the midfielder says he is happy at Barca and is not thinking about leaving.
"I'm very happy at Barca," he said. "This is my home and I want to stay here for many years to come."
Barcola's impressive form is a major boost for Barca, who are looking to win their first La Liga title since 2019.
The young midfielder is a key part of Xavi's team and his performances will be crucial if Barca are to achieve their goals this season.
